there's a genuine point to be made here about the way that "run a little business" type games generally are built around convincing people that capitalism is a fun little game that can be solved instead of the death drive of a dying world.

yes i know there's a lot of games like this but we need MORE we gotta push back against the small business mindset. you will not get rich selling your crops to the local store! but you COULD make a difference if we had COMMUNIST INFRASTRUCTURE

With Microsoft on the BDS list, why not try boomer shooters that aren't Doom? Project Absentia is one where instead of trying to go for low poly psx aesthetics, it's shooting for trashy newgrounds animation with amateur voice acting and tons of overly stylized drawn gore.

It also has a lot of angel theming, which means I'm going to have to play it sometime, probably on stream. Either way, it's got great weapons, cool level design, and if you're a sucker for those goofy old web animations but wish they hadn't aged so utterly terribly, it's a great choice.

one of the worst parts of our modern scam culture is how it's designed to make you feel guilty when you fall for it

but that in itself is the biggest scam of all

don't fucking fall for it. It's not your fault when you get scammed, it's not your fault when you find a cool song and it turns out there's ai, the pain you feel in your heart isn't a personal failing it's a dream of a better world where no one feels that pain

and don't judge others who fall for shit either, just let it go and move on

none of these things are your fault, but the more you think about them on a level of "is this my fault or is it their fault" the more you consider the only options to be personal ones; you can't build a better world where these scams don't happen, only you and the scammer could change this, the govt and regulatory bodies and everyone involved does not exist
