Capitalism would have won if Harris won, too. There was no non-capitalist alternative that had a chance of winning the 2024 election. What won in this election was fascism specifically.
Leftists in America will likely have fewer opportunities with Trump as president, especially if he is seriously going to become a fascist dictator like he's hinted at. This is indeed nothing to celebrate.
Trump very well could initiate a new Red Scare-esque movement in America, and what infuriates me are the literal millions of people (consisting of Democrats, leftists, and apolitical individuals) who chose not to vote for Harris, and even more so the people who legitimately think that a Harris presidency would've been the same as a Trump presidency. If concentration camps are made and these people find themselves in them, their opinion on the matter will likely change.
Someone saying they want me to die via deadly disease just for being a Marxist-Leninist, which is definitely a reportable offense and against Mastodon rules, and all violations of TOS should be reported by those who see them. (Note: They incorrectly believe that Marxism-Leninism is a fascist ideology): https://blogi.social/@alemppu/113442021778207242
Do you have any more threats for me, just to make it easier to get your account deleted or at least banned from mastodon.social? I would really appreciate it.
To answer your question, I don't have any family who lived in the Soviet Union. You're still mislabeling Marxism-Leninism as fascism when the two ideologies are not the same, which was my original objection.
The hammer and sickle symbol is not "a symbol of totalitarian red fascism and oppression" just because you say so, and neither is Marxism-Leninism fascism just because you say so. The hammer and sickle symbol has its own meaning that isn't related to fascism, and a quick Google search will show the difference between Marxism-Leninism and fascism. If you're going to hate Marxism-Leninism, then at least do it without strawmaning it.
I'm going to do the same thing I would've done even if Harris became president: continue to try and educate and organize the working class. It'll just be harder now with a far-right wing administration in control led by a possible soon-to-be fascist dictator that will drastically push the social, political, and economic spheres of the country into even further hostility against leftists and leftist organizations than they already were.
