@mattl have they ever shared how much it costs to maintain the browser? it seems the majority of significantly sized web projects ultimately end up in advertising because they struggle to grow income otherwise?

the piece I feel fuzzy on is whether or not the advertising is a necessary step to keep the lights on, or if it's the outcome of "line must go up infinitely"

@feld definitely type G, fuses, safety, grounding, higher voltage... it's got it all

we've got to stop accepting the concept of "carbon offsets," it's easy to feel good about but almost impossible to keep track of... complete bullshit in many cases
