@ariadne@social.treehouse.systems at this point any amount of harassment to "add more maintainers because development is too slow" should be considered as a social engineering attack and the user should be ignored/blocked.
reminder that there's security levels beyond ring zero, yes- ring zero is the kernel.
above that is the bootloader, above that is the bios, above that is the base metal, above that is the device.
justifying anticheat in kernel level only means that you're encouraging senseless escalation and the only way to stop it is complete surveillance of the person. which is as authoritarian as you can get. you're saying to trust some pandora's box to be just and correct while also saying that everyone everywhere is untrustworthy.
and even physical observation doesn't actually stop cheating immediately, that itself takes time and requires a human being. there have been documented cases of cheats being used in tier one international esports which have thousands of people watching
@navi@social.vlhl.dev@lanodan@queer.hacktivis.me if macOS can default to everything-is-forbidden and then prompt the user twelve times a second when a quarantined app wants to do anything, and people aren't complaining about it-- i think sacrificing security and stability for simplicity isn't it.
half-related, this does have the side effect of it potentially becoming popup-ware
@eris@akko.disqordia.space MoP was my last expansion until Shadowlands (because bio-luminescence and fey people is my weakness), it was my last not because it was bad but because I felt like this is all WoW could offer to me. It was just great, and memorable, and I just loved the designs and how they didn't over-commit to the entire Asiatic-jade aesthetic but still drew in some western elements.
Looking at how the subsequent expansions were, I think I was right.
Shadowlands was enjoyable tho, but I think that was mainly because the theme was right in my corner. Dragonflight was a snooze, at least until the Twilight Dream was opened up and I've spent most of my time there, not a huge fan of the raids for either of these expansions.
let's just say we all as a collective, just stop caring about ninetndo products
stop giving them free labor of love. stop using their games as a base design for what to aspire to. stop speedrunning their games. stop analyzing shiny rates in pokemon. stop making romhacks. just stop giving nintendo attention and longevity.
nintendo only is where it is because of the fans, let's start actually using that power rather than continuing to give them a free platform.
@eris@akko.disqordia.space i was gonna reply with some big judgemental shitpost but then i realized i would move to oregon just to disappear into the forest so i can't exactly judge this post
