     are you okay with them installing an efi bootloader that loads the anticheat at boot
     
     are you okay with them blanket banning motherboard manufacturers because their signing keys got leaked
     
     are you okay with them banning devices that are not on an allow list, that they do not disclose
     
     are you okay with them banning displayport because you could be hijacking the cable and you must use hdmi with hdcp
     
     are you okay with them requiring you to buy a camera and sticking it to the wall having complete vision of you and your computer
     
     this is where it's heading to.

     reminder that there's security levels beyond ring zero, yes- ring zero is the kernel.
     
     above that is the bootloader, above that is the bios, above that is the base metal, above that is the device.
     
     justifying anticheat in kernel level only means that you're encouraging senseless escalation and the only way to stop it is complete surveillance of the person. which is as authoritarian as you can get. you're saying to trust some pandora's box to be just and correct while also saying that everyone everywhere is untrustworthy.
     
     and even physical observation doesn't actually stop cheating immediately, that itself takes time and requires a human being. there have been documented cases of cheats being used in tier one international esports which have thousands of people watching
