Alan Bellingham (bellinghman@wandering.shop)'s status on Sunday, 08-Sep-2024 07:58:34 JST Alan Bellingham @kithrup It was 1995 when C & I first went to a convention as a couple. It was a small goth one, in a caravan park, with Terry as GoH.
We got chatting in the bar, and at one point Terry asked her 'Have you told him yet?'
To which her answer was 'No'
He very nobly/cruelly said no more. And I was in an agony of ignorance until the point that I read the passage where the Witches are visiting Mrs Palm, and the line comes up 'Why Colette, what fascinating earrings'

All the plugs under the desk are now labelled

Alan Bellingham (bellinghman@wandering.shop)'s status on Thursday, 01-Aug-2024 19:43:25 JST Alan Bellingham We quite enjoy watching McDonald & Dodds - an ITV crime series set in Bath with episodes designed for a two hour slot - but we did have an issue with the latest episode
The barcode on a bottle of fizzy wine ain't going to tell you where and when it was bought. There is retail technology based on RFID that could do that, but your standard EAN-13 (a) doesn't have enough data content, and (b) can't be updated
(I don't know of anywhere that actually uses the RFID tech for groceries, even now)

Alan Bellingham (bellinghman@wandering.shop)'s status on Thursday, 01-Aug-2024 19:43:24 JST Alan Bellingham We'll ignore the "it's a bit dark under that bridge" bit, that's addressed elsewhere on the web

Alan Bellingham (bellinghman@wandering.shop)'s status on Thursday, 01-Aug-2024 19:43:21 JST Alan Bellingham @gmh I forget. But the plot involved the bus from Larkhall being diverted while still a fair way out, and I don't think there was anything under this bridge in the way of premises. Oh, and it apparently took 30 seconds to transit

Alan Bellingham (bellinghman@wandering.shop)'s status on Saturday, 08-Jun-2024 21:52:42 JST Alan Bellingham @LordWoolamaloo My wife heard Queen live at Wembley. She was at home in Ealing at the time
(She saw the Beatles live in concert when younger, but couldn't hear them over the rest of the audience screaming. I doubt you'll have that issue with the Swifties)

Alan Bellingham (bellinghman@wandering.shop)'s status on Tuesday, 14-Nov-2023 06:50:01 JST Alan Bellingham @cstross I'll do that. Coming home by train would be interesting (as in, you can get from Sicily to the Italian mainland by a train that fits on a ship), but it would take days longer
And I have an appointment at Addenbrookes on the Tuesday morning, for which today's MRI was preparation
