@natty@astolfo.social I'm not saying consumer protections should be eroded??? I'm just saying that people who say "don't ever buy from nintendo, no matter what, they're bad guys" are stupid
You have the responsibility as a parent to make sure the games you let your children play are not going to be bad for them, and in that regard, I wouldn't let my kids play games with microtransactions.
But for the case of Nintendo. Their first party titles. Family friendly fun singleplayer experiences??? I don't think this matters and people are way too up in arms about not supporting them. Let people make their own decisions. I should be able to post a screenshot of a nintendo game without 3 people telling me how I should've pirated it instead.
@natty@astolfo.social I would've been very mad at my parents and held a grudge against them for a long time if we didn't get a wii because of some big picture issue with the company making it that went over my head.
Guys trust me if all of us adults who are informed about the implications of a companies actions we'll hurt them financially by boycotting and they'll have to listen!!! (ignore that the target, and largest demographic for this company are children under the age of 15)
Yeah, no shit, they suck and have shitty business practices. They don't give a single solitary shit about your business. As long as children keep asking their parents for their products, it won't end.
Good luck convincing a ten year old that they shouldn't play Mario because Nintendo is the antichrist. You do realize how dumb that sounds right?
