@mcc@vikxin The horror stories I heard from the Android devs at work... shit like "Oh yeah this bug is only exclusive to Samsung phones because they re-implemented this API in a stupid way" or "Oh yeah that flagship phone that costs 800$? It has a shitty I/O controller so caching shit is awfully slow"
Days since I've thought to myself "god I really need a blog to document that obscure-but-might-be-useful thing I did but i can't be bothered to set one up/figure out how": 0
Few people know this because it was a lifetime ago but I've created maybe half a dozen blogs with almost as many different CMSes/tools and almost every time I ended up spending more time fucking around with the code/tool rather than just write/post anything.
So naturally I'm "scared" of falling again in that rabbit hole so I want something dead simple that I still own BUT I know myself and I *will* have gripes with themes/UI/whatever ?
Do you feel like you follow too many people On Here? Do you find Mastodon's UI to review your followings to be too limiting/cumbersome? Boy do I have the tool for you!
Introducing ✨ Tokimeki Mastodon ✨
It's free, open-source, works entirely in your browser (your progress is kept locally) and makes cleaning your feed a breeze ?
@lina yeah full text search only works (by design/tech constraints) on your own posts so maybe that works? If they have hashtags anybody can easily find them tho
@lina Crossposting retweets/quote tweets is usually dicey: 1) retweets are usually very, uh, Twitter-centric so some ppl are here to avoid Twitter stuff 2) Ppl on Twitter might not be aware that or want their stuff to be broadcast on an entirely different platform when someone retweets them ? 3) The Federated/local timelines are usually very busy so it just adds more noise ^^;
