Looks like Moa only posts RTs as unlisted... I wonder if I should redo it manually as public (for the posts not already on Fedi), or is that frowned upon?
I just want people to be able to find the amazing fanart I've gotten so far here... ^^;;

@les I already did it, but it was only 5 posts so I don't think it was too much spam? ^^
@lina It's generally frowned upon to flood the public timeline. Maybe you could make one or two posts with your fanart and use alt-test (and/or use the toot text to credit them) so that you don't flood the public timeline too much?
@Eramdam I don't mean in general, I'm only turning on cross-post RTs on for a while to help promote folks moving over (mostly in the Fedi -> Twitter direction)! ^^
But in this particular case I just want to mirror the old fanart on Fedi, but it kind of defeats the purpose if it 's not searchable...
@lina Crossposting retweets/quote tweets is usually dicey:
1) retweets are usually very, uh, Twitter-centric so some ppl are here to avoid Twitter stuff
2) Ppl on Twitter might not be aware that or want their stuff to be broadcast on an entirely different platform when someone retweets them ?
3) The Federated/local timelines are usually very busy so it just adds more noise ^^;
@Eramdam Yeah, they all have hashtags! It's just that those are not searchable for unlisted posts, so I re-drafted the Moa RTs as public. Sorry for the spam ^^;;
@lina yeah full text search only works (by design/tech constraints) on your own posts so maybe that works? If they have hashtags anybody can easily find them tho
