If they could see how the world will perceive them when they are dead... It might rip their arrogance away from them

Very few wealthy individuals are going to be thought of well after they are dead.

The people who suck up to them now... Won't give them a thought in death

So true .. the fact is all these wealthy people will eventually die and rot away

They will leave their kids wealthy, but in a world a bit shittier because they existed.

Their kids have a choice of emulating their parents or trying to repair the damage for their kids.

So it will continue until they either die trying to make the world better or die with their money being of little value in a future shithole

If lucky we have a life expectancy of 4 score years and 10...

We create gods and mythologys of divine providence with no basis in reality, whatsoever, to create a paradise of an afterlife...

Then we go to War and fight over our unsupported beliefs ...

We really are the stupidest of creatures...

@harriettmb @EndemicEarthling the USA is very good at making long term enemies... You cannot bomb civilians with no consequences... You cannot supply weapons and pretend you are not the ones doing the bombing... You cannot retaliate first... You cannot be selectively horrified when those without jets take what action they feel is needed... Violence always breeds violence

@gemlog do you think apart from investing in companies and then pretending he invented the tech.. that Musk read a bit of Sci Fi.. and took the ideas and got investors to try and make them real... Seems a fair amount of the companies problems are trying to capitalize before the tech is ready and penny pinching... He doesn't seem to be a particularly astute business man... Given underseved importance

Israel kills civilians.... Collateral damage following Hamas attack.

Russia wants Ukraine... Bad
Israel wants Gaza and West Bank ... Not said as Good but not condemned

At what point do Outside Governments say that the number of Palestinian deaths that inc Children is enough and the war mongers in Israel should stop.. 10k, 25K, 100K deaths... Biden, Sunak etc are complicit in Genocide by supporting these war crimes... People of Palestine and Israel deserve better... Btw the deaths probably exceed 10k now
