i'm not sure why the new york times would be using an ai from a company they're suing to revise a perfectly acceptable human-written summary at least half an hour later than it was originally published
except they're single-device only, there's no backup, and if someone reinstalls telegram, you have no way of knowing that the messages you sent in your old secret chat with them aren't getting delivered. which silently not delivering the messages is basically as bad as a messenger can get.
and from the tech (and ux) standpoint, the hard part of e2ee is key distribution and cross-signing, which is necessary for multi-device access, group chats and such. telegram just... refused to do the hard work and stopped at the bare minimum, because secret chats mostly exist for marketing purposes only.
