I continue to be slobberknocked by how closely the two sides’ messaging mirror each other while the background info is at opposite ends of the pole. Today, one of the most avid Trump supporters I know posted: “We are going to choose hope over fear.” I look at that and I can’t get it to work in my brain. Hope over fear??? How does that even track? The only explanation I can come up with is our brains are wired in completely different ways.

🤣🤣🤣 Some of these pundits think people are incapable of rational thought. The Lincoln Radio Journal, Pennsylvania: a 20% surcharge on utilities to fund greener production keeps a woman from paying for her cancer treatments. Let’s play along. My energy bill is $400 a month. 20% surcharge takes it to $480. Additional cost $960 a year. Average cost of cancer treatment $150,000. Maybe the problem is lack of universal healthcare?

@freakazoid @Digital_Eclipse Your rendition leaves out that the American Revolutionists had no other recourse: no vote, no representation, no audience. The Jan 6 participants had all of the above and chose violence over democratic activism. They were not disenfranchised. They represented the current power structure. They simply didn’t like that they were overruled, in the majority, by their peers. Thus, they were and are both terrorists and insurrectionists.

I work hard to avoid beng a Monday Morning Quarterback. Many, many people are at the core of decisions using information I do not have. Information I DO have: 1. It is never acceptable to kill people who are not a direct life-threatening physical threat to you; 2. It is never acceptable to bully others; 3. It is perfectly acceptable to disarm and silence those who violate #1 and #2.

@freemo Absolutely incorrect interpretation of my meaning. I am saying a fetus is not yet a human and will not be until it is birthed.

As to the 10 week designation that now the fetus is a human, you said you set that time because that’s when neurons develop, the fetus is possibly capable of thought, and is therefore human. But the presence of neurons is not, in and of themselves, an indicator of being human…being birthed is.

@freemo Jellyfish have neurons. Thus, it seems to me you are still stating something that might become an independent living being (and per your clarification might be capable of thought) has more value than someone who is a living independent human being and is capable of thought.

That is what I am curious about. Why does a living independent human being capable of thought have less value to you than something that is not?
