@erincandescent look it's a lot of work posting requests for public comment on axing (standard of the week), and then closing off the thread once the public comment turns out to be "what you do doing no don't do that stop"
@valorzard@cwebber Christine would know better, but my guess is it would be non-trivial to port, as the languages don't have the same syntactic forms for functionality both languages have in common, to say nothing of macro syntax and objects and such
Rather than be annoyed when other people do it, I should just start smugly declaring things I don't personally like to be "deprecated". For example, Wayland is totally deprecated. 100% legacy code. It's not even written in Rust! What an absolute clown show. Also Rust is totally deprecated. I only use languages from the future, like C++ '26.
I'm a just a small town AAA graphics programmer in Chicago. I worked on Gears 5 and Gears Tactics. My work is secret, but my personal projects are not.I like to post about my personal research, various side projects, and I like to think out loud a lot. Expect weird humor, esoteric ramblings, and occasionally also art I made out of math. I like implicit surface modeling the normal amount. Chronic pain enthusiast. 🏳️⚧️Curses are just blessings with caveats.
