Ever since I mentioned I'm knitting a jumper, all I get on Instagram are ads for jumpers... are they telling me to just give up and buy one

Citizen Helene (citizenhelene@mastodon.social)'s status on Saturday, 16-Nov-2024 06:42:04 JST Citizen Helene @botvolution I'd forgotten about this! Thanks for the reminder. It's tricky because what I need is pretty specific, and I find charity shops tend to offer the opposite sort of experience, so don't know if I'd have much luck. Probably more likely to find someone's finished version of the jumper, haha

Citizen Helene (citizenhelene@mastodon.social)'s status on Saturday, 16-Nov-2024 04:03:15 JST Citizen Helene Even acrylic yarn. Was looking into making a silly Wit Knits jumper and really struggled to find black yarn in the quantities needed! And it still somehow came to about £40, which is... more money than I feel I should spend on something that will probably turn out to be unwearably sweaty

Rapid tests/LFTs are very reliable at showing true positives (99%) but not great at showing true negatives – historically the average reliability has been 69%*, but with more recent variants, it's reportedly even lower, around 27%**.
So while you can believe a positive result, you shouldn't rely on a single negative test. Instead, you should repeat the test over several days.
