Calling a Mullvad co-founder's donation to fascists "controversial" is weak. But when I see this sort of thing from another "anti-Big Tech" initiative, I remember why I want to move forward with @thepeoplestech. I'm so tired of the placation of right-wing politics; to me it is all connected.

Trying to find more information on how the under-15 social media ban in France impacts Mastodon/fediverse servers, and while I can't see anything too concrete on that, I did come across this 2024 The Guardian article:

The scariest thing about new #AgeVerification laws being introduced in Europe (France, I was expecting more from you) is to see the positive reactions of my family members, who have fallen hook, line and sinker for the arguments discussed in the media. "It's to protect the children!" No it isn't.

I attended this last night and it was even better than I expected, just superb stuff from @jim, @megafreda.eurosky.social and @jmaris - and inspired (and inspiring!) breakout room discussions too. (It was so nice to chat with @JamesBaker and others to throw around ideas such as servers for your local community!)
