For nearly 25 years, I've reported from protests and picket lines, sit-ins and squats, documenting various anti-fascist political protests and movements, and interviewed numerous campaigners, academics, activists, and unsung heroes of anti-capitalist struggle. I've gathered together - and am continuing - some of my writing via a brand-new newsletter called The SilenceBreaker (the name I've often been associated with), documenting the failures of state socialism and the futility of electoral politics, arriving now at "the beautiful idea" of direct democracy. What's different about it? I see so many people (mostly men, this isn't random) talking about how Meta's Ray-Ban glasses are "incredible" or "still not ready" yet, I don't see anyone calling it what it is:
Voyeurism.

This technology will increase voyeurism and stalking aggressions in unacceptable ways. These glasses are a voyeur's dream weapon. Also a doxxer's and stalker's dream weapon.

Why are our laws and cultures not protecting us against this?

It seems like I always go to Mastodon for good opinions! Aside from my copywriting in an era of ChatGPT, it feels like my design work has also diminished at the same time folks are using Canva. Now several collaborators have encouraged me to adopt it for projects and I've finally agreed to explore the possibility. I haven't used it for years, back when it started. Obviously I'm not interested in so-called "AI," but am ignorant to its current form - is there anything I should be aware of about Canva, #HiveMind? Good, or bad? @fkamiah17 Incredible. The reality they can't face is that Trump never won the election, Harris lost it. That's the sad truth. It was appalling. But the same professional politicians perceive this as a game - because they can afford to.

@fkamiah17 He's hated, but the mobilisation against him is largely impotent. I think it will change but you're right, it will probably only be by 2028, assuming there's anything left of his opposition by then.
