Another British leftist misjudgement is arguing with gammon types and using the point that "Well, we fought against fascism in the Second World War!" Honestly, these people don't give a shit, because they don't perceive it that way; they almost always talk about fighting "Germany," not "Nazi Germany." They're actually quite alright with fascism, as long as it's wrapped in the Butcher's Apron.

I recall knowing many leftists years back who would (rightly) condemn the colonial history of the UK and suggest the Falklands be returned to Argentina. And then you begin to understand anarchist philosophy and realise the answer isn't nation states but self-autonomy in the Falklands and everywhere.
