Looks like bad lighting and maybe fingerprints on my lens but this wasn't very far from me.

I didn't see or hear much acknowledgement of 9/11 today.

Maybe I'm in my bubble, which is fine. It feels safe here most days.

I was very pregnant when it happened. It will forever represent the change of my entire world view.

My son's life forever impacted by that day. A generation impacted by so much chaos for so many reasons.

So, I just want to say I remember.

I just looked up our demographics.
Per Wikipedia and the last census, it is 94.66% white.

(No wonder I feel such a bigot vibe here.)

To clarify, I strongly believe (maybe because I'm a born Jersey girl) that diversity grows people, that they stop fearing differences and learn to see similarities and even begin to appreciate the differences, want to learn and even sometimes be part of/experience. When people don't embrace, encourage, or attract diversity, it breeds ignorance.

Take it for my opinion or whatever.

Also, given the questions on the census, I selected White Hispanic. 💜

I find myself always wanting to get on a soapbox over racism and bigotry.
It really pisses me off.

I do not understand the mentality of disliking, even hating, or thinking lesser of people because of *everything that has nothing to do with me and is none of my actual business*. That's what it is for them.

Different skin color, different country, different religion, different choice in partner, different level of ability, etc. Different. If you actively dislike, hate, or think lesser of people for such absolute shallow and absurd reasons, you are ignorant.

I left off "Don't Go Breaking My Heart."

I should just delete this and start over.
