We have to wait until either the judge rules the incompetence and ("potentially") false evidence allowed or disallowed before we can really crow about their fucking uselessness.

But this is just another day in the US, cops ignore any laws and policies to act like badasses in their own minds. A manhunt becomes a bomb threat & terrorism just because; evidence is mistreated because they trust the justice system to back them over anything resembling people's rights.

So many people think republicans are those friends you talk with at work, or the guys who built their own business and seem to care about the work. Those aren't republicans.

Those are the victims of republicans. People who've been duped into believing that 'small government' and 'balanced budgets' are a thing the gop want. Dupes, patsies, MLM victims.

Revoking constitutional rights? Deportations; destroying the economy; murdering veterans, the sick, or the old; banning books - that's the gop.

It's not the phone making you sad; it's the horror show of everything being inflicted on all of us.

It's not video games; it's child abuse and indoctrination leading to school shootings.

It's never the innocuous thing the powers that be blame - it's fucking them. The wealthy, the powerful, the famous. It's in their best interest to never let you question the status quo, and if that current "normal" is quickly degrading right before your eyes, then it must be something or someone else's fault!

That moment when you realize your entire culture is an egregore of millions of dead racist's, bigot's and hate-monger's desire to enslave every living person to some warped version of a 'perfect society' the long dead would imagine; and you just can't unsee it.

One of the reasons ultra wealthy & financial elites don't run for public office beyond a certain level of anonymity (aside from exceptions like NYC mayor) is totally because fame isn't something they can fight.

Yeah, musk could curate his fame as a techbro whatever, but he's not a techbro, he's the one pissing on the drapes in the white house right now. Just looking at Tesla will tell you what this type of fame does. It's not controllable, and previous generations knew that. 1/

That's why the successful sociopaths in the business world are the ones hidden from the public.

People like trump aren't the backroom dealers or decision makers, they're the fucking patsy or the fall guy.

He loves thinking he'll be the boss, and the whole presidency is just that, but he's just a mob money launderer & slum lord to the rich and famous.

He's an extra in his own story.

Hence his utter desire for fame and wealth. His myopic focus on appearance and prestige. Gilded as it is. 3/

Yes, modern media is held hostage by the wealthy and is yellow journalism at best, propaganda at worst. So they feel 'safe' that their fellow billionaire owner class types will cover for them. But that's just it. Journalism has always been held hostage, either by government or by the wealthy.

But it never helps them in the end. Rivals spill the beans, intrepid go getters side step gate keepers.

That fame brings their skeletons to light. They can't control it. 2/

I want a culture that doesn't hurt you for who or what you are.
I want a culture that sees suffering as undesirable.
I want a culture that want's to progress but also won't forget.

And I have no ways or means to that place, because of the culture we have.

Make them hate each other - the religious right are two steps from hating the fiscal hawks; and those hawks already hate the white-power terrorists; put targets on their backs and let them fight.

It's how coalition-built rebels win, because we're never going to create a unified leftist front that has power in the current social and cultural climate.

Nazis make plans. Authorotarians, cartels, syndicates - they have back room deals. And we have our share of them - notably trump and his ilk, or the various factions of the gop.

But seriously - it's the whims of a nurse deciding to mistreat someone; the cop beating kids; politicians protecting themselves at the cost of hurting people.

That's why trump feels powerful: a dozen of him and his cartel, and a million fuckless bad actors who don't even care.

[sighs] The US doesn't need organization to inflict terror on minorities. We don't need media owners having backroom meetings, or politicians planning oppressive laws.

We have cops making "secret" murder squads all on their own; we have the media spreading misinformation every chance they get for clicks; we have uneducated lawmakers giving wiggle room for supremacists to game the system; and these independent, stochastic, terror and oppression until it's forced itself into the status quo.

The US is currently controlled under the authority of a white supremacist; the authority of a rapist; the authority of a pedophile; the authority of a fraud; the authority of a felon; the authority of a murderer; the authority of an infantile narcissist; the authority of a fascist.

Act ~the fuck~ accordingly.

One of the things I think about every few days is this:

0.39% of the US population is a cop. One out of every 300 people is a cop.

Despite that they only solve about 30% of the crimes they deal with. 1 in 300, with a 1/3rd success rate?

At a price tag of ~152 billion/year. 30% success. 0.39% of the population.

How? I mean, name a group other than politicians and the tech companies that have a 1/3rd success rate, yet still remain relevant? And are fed more & more resources as they go?

The vanishing mom & pop store is "due to market pressures" or an "inability to compete" - not Amazon, Walmart and their billionaires stealing wealth then leveraging it to buy out everything they can. Successful people being dangerous or evil? "That's unpossible"I hear imaginary people say, mimicing the new's talking heads.

We have thousands of examples of this but the powers that be let the delusion continue to protect donors or because they are part of the danger itself.

Even then, Conner blames the cheat - the future tech and the scientests & engineers. Not the people who own the company, the military who funds it, the military-industrial-complex or the politicians pushing for it. Nope, just the lone techie who's "responsible" for it all.

Again, slight of hand. It's not an apocalypse if that one person dies. But that's a lie.

We hide the actual threats, because they sit on corporate boards or wear nice suits. We're trained, programmed, to accept it as ok.

R.U.R (or Rossumovi Univerzální Roboti / Rossum's Universal Robots) has been described as marvelous 'Technological Dystopia' by many.

That term is so... misplaced. The dystopia of the play was caused by capitalism. By oppression. By people. Not the Roboti or their struggle for liberation.

We don't blame the people who built Skynet, we blame Skynet, it's an act of deception, a slight of hand, because Skynet didn't ask to exist! But only the extremist blames the generals & tech companies.

President Carter was the best president of my lifetime.

Granted, 'best' here is doing a lot of work because most of those assholes are worthless fuckless conartists. But he has my respect because he tried (and often failed) to do the right thing. Hell, as anti-christian as I am, I'll even say he was probably a good Christian.
