So, broadband provider (Sky - don't ask, I know...) has sent a text saying that an engineer will call to install #FullFibre later this month. No number to call if it's inconvenient.

Tried to call them today. After 5 attempts when the 'bot' cdn't understand "cancel engineer", "cancel appointment" and several other alternatives I gave up. Tried online, again only a bot available and couldn't understand the phrases I used.

When the contract ends, that's it. I've had enough! GAH!

Turn the volume off first, because I'm afraid I'm screeching. It was the joy of the synchronised triple breach and my daughter being with me. We were on St Mary's (see profile banner photo') usually a good spot to view seals/dolphins without disturbing them.

@jmcrookston @CppGuy in the UK "final salary" and "defined benefit" pensions are interchangeable terms. Many firms no longer offer these; there's been a move to "defined contribution" schemes.

Before various rule changes it tended to be the self-employed who had 'private' pensions. Some folks were persuaded to transfer their pensions to private providers and ended up with much worse provision; the 'persuaders' benefiting from commission. All part of the neoliberal nonsense. Late 80s/early 90s.

@bmacDonald94 perhaps too much information, but ibuprofen changed my life. I used to have crippling menstrual pain. Other painkillers made no difference until ibuprofen could be purchased 'over the counter' & I no longer needed time off work each month.
All a long-winded way of explaining why I never really paid attention to any warnings, because it had had such a positive impact on my life.
Pharmacies query before you buy but you can easily purchase two packs in a supermarket no questions asked
