A wise politician, (labour used to have a few) said ‘power devolved is power retained’.
Where we are proves they were correct.
If ScotGov gets a budget cut services will obviously suffer.
I hope the weirdo’s who chose Labour recently will put 2 & 2 together when prescriptions started costing, when free bus travel vanishes.
Maybe, just maybe some will wise up.

When Indy supporters blame ScotGov I wonder why they don’t understand the basics of devolution. -

Thank you.
Norwegian oil sector had stopped using Chinook helicopters well before UK.
They were the most uncomfortable aircraft I’ve ever flown in, like sardines tins.
The flight to the Brent field was 3 hours. They told us they could float if they had to land on water. One had to do it due to problems and the water came rushing in, the very skilful pilot managed to ‘drive’ it over to a platform and everyone got off, if a bit wet. -

I’d just landed on the Brent Delta off a Chinook when we heard about the Chinook crash near Sumburgh. We all rushed to phone home. My wife was out in the car a heard news on radio, had to pull over unable to drive for a bit. I managed to phone neighbour who’d also heard news. She didn’t manage to catch my wife when she arrived home. Phoning office, person answering said they’d have to go thru list of names. Wife told them I was going offshore, not returning. -

I’d not long transferred from Brent Charlie to Delta, knew majority of casualties, some very well.
Boss got me off to attend funerals.
What got to me most was the children of deceased attending, weeping uncontrollably.
After attending 7 funerals in just over a week I couldn’t take any more. -

Came back in on a Chinook through a snow storm with lightning.
We got struck and had large sparks passing our window, two of sitting together jumped pretty high. We hadn’t too long to go before landing at Aberdeen, in the dark.
As we left chopper we looked up at front rotor and there was a large chunk out of one blades😳 -

Many moons ago in Glasgow incapable drunks were brought in to establishments where ropes were rigged across a large room and the men were draped over them, arms one side, bodies the other, kneeling on the floor. This kept them alive when they would otherwise choke if left lying prostrate.
There was a term, either a ‘thrupny (3d) or six Penny hing’ that they had to pay on departure in the morning for the pleasure of being kept alive. -

If someone I follow posts multiple consecutive posts I have to scroll over if I’m not interested in the subject, is there a quick way of avoiding this?
