I saw a discussion about oil prices, and it reminded me of something that is truly rare in this day and age:
I still go to the full-service gas (petrol) station near my house, run by a husband and wife, and they have those old-timey pumps where the numbers roll by on a cylinder. They have two: one with ethanol and one without.
Tammy comes out to the car to pump your gas, and if you need anything else, like air in your tires, you roll in front of the service bay and Marsh takes care of that (for free, unless you need a nail removed from a tire and a plug, which is five or ten bucks). Tammy always brings me peppermint sweets with my credit card receipt to sign. And I ask about her family, some of whom I've met, and the latest cruise they went on. She also gives me suggestions for where I can get more fun funky clothes that I like.
I can get pics or videos if Y'all ever want to see the old pumps still in use in this day and age.
Thinking about my Aunt, who is recovering well from surgery for breast cancer. She is a relentlessly hopeful soul, and the beauty of the natural world is her guide. This is her picture, and it always makes me smile: #SilentSunday #StillerSonntag
Oh so NOW the right wing podcasters and influencers want him stopped?!? The same dudes who fed poison to viewers for years, to manipulate people's minds all of this time? It's infuriating.
@TheEddieShow yeah. I get that we can learn a lot from being in space, truly, with scientific experiments, but as far as space travel, until we make a major breakthrough on a couple things, we'll never get past Mars. Plus, this administration would never spend the money they saved on anything that helps people. The money spent on this war each day is unfathomable. They can always find money to kill people, but not to save them.
It's not possible to go faster than the speed of light, and wormholes that go through the bulk are strictly theoretical, plus even if they exist they might not be static. So, it doesn't help space travel much, except for maybe Mars.
Thank you to every person who had choices about where to protest today, and still chose to add their number to a smaller protest.
Sure, it's absolutely impressive to see Philly, Boston, Chicago, L.A. But what's really impressive to me are the smaller towns with enthusiastic participants. It's different when you don't have a big crowd where you can blend in. Granted, I would like to experience one of those huge crowds to see what it's like, but I will probably always prioritize the smaller communities deep in red territory. They might need me more.
At any rate, I am happy for every person who is a part of this in any way whatsoever.
And thank you, Minneapolis/St. Paul for bearing more than your share, and leading the way. We salute you!
Companies can make the best products ever, and then lose the customer with poor packaging on the manufacturing end. If you can't provide a resealable bag with an actual seal that works, then just package it without one. It'd be a lot less aggravating.
