@AnthonyJK legit when I bring up HOA and TBS as examples of how things here are not super rosy after people are trying to say that BS and Shitter should never be considered because of transphobia I get shouted down with "whataboutism has entered the chat" and similar. @gwynnion i agree with you. reading Zuboff earlier this year provided me with this thought about why we think the way we do about current politics (YMMV): Zuboff points out how hard it was for people to comprehend totalitarianism. I feel that here in the USA we are struggling to comprehend what is happening in politics and society. from Shoshana Zuboff Surveillance Capitalism notes p. 336 in the print edition:

Really sad rn because I had to block someone who's content I really liked but she equated everyone with a rightful objection to genocide to Russian election interference. Like what? The only one killing Biden's campaign rn is himself. I'm voting uncommitted in the primary just to let them know I won't be voting for him and then I won't be voting for him and he's the reason. Not anybody else.

@jacklaridian in my experience, I thought my family was not as bad as they are, but they kept choosing partners that were super shitty and it took me awhile to make the connection that they must be shitty too to put up with that. Unfortunately I didn't realize that until after the damage had been done and they had proven themselves shitty on their own merits. Don't be like me, they're telling you who they are.

Every psych I've ever seen, as soon as i start talking about my intrusive thoughts, many of which are violent, they want to put me on that shit and I'm not taking it. The last one wanted me to take something that could have given me involuntary movements even after I stopped taking it. Fuck that and fuck you.
