Making it a mandatory field is typical for US developers. Same as using the M/D date format. Just shows how little thought has gone into writing the software. -

jerry1970 (jerry1970@venera.social)'s status on Monday, 14-Aug-2023 18:48:07 JST jerry1970 @volodymyr @apps @NiemPseu Friendica in the browser shows me notifications (the Bell icon) that says "Fedilab App tagged you on ..." (quoting the opening post). The Fedilab App shows me "Fedilab App mentioned you ..." and then the actual comment but without the original post. In many cases I have no idea what the original post is the comment is for. When I am tagged that is OK, I am going to open it anyway, but I get ... oh wait... I think I need to understand the top bar icons better first. The notifications show it roughly the same. I think I have a problem with the regular time line, where a comment just is the comment without any context. -

jerry1970 (jerry1970@venera.social)'s status on Monday, 14-Aug-2023 17:36:26 JST jerry1970 @volodymyr @apps @NiemPseu That raises a few questions on how I see my updates in Fedilab App, though. I see many updates that are comments to a thread, but the update only shows the comment. I have to open a lot of comments to see in which thread they appear. That could be improved, I think. -

jerry1970 (jerry1970@venera.social)'s status on Monday, 14-Aug-2023 16:55:26 JST jerry1970 @volodymyr @apps @NiemPseu I have not been able to find out what a Lemmy server adds to a Fediverse experience. Their website says a lot about installing and what not, but does not say anything about the added value compared to other server types. -

jerry1970 (jerry1970@venera.social)'s status on Monday, 14-Aug-2023 16:55:25 JST jerry1970 Does that mean the thread structure only exists on the server but the message protocol and storage are the same?

jerry1970 (jerry1970@venera.social)'s status on Monday, 14-Aug-2023 16:55:23 JST jerry1970 @volodymyr @apps @NiemPseu Hm. As a developer I don't like the many different server types. I prefer generics. If the protocol is the same, it should be easy to story posts in a generic way and display them however you want. Should be a client thing only. But then again, I've not looked into the protocol and software at all yet. -

jerry1970 (jerry1970@venera.social)'s status on Sunday, 13-Aug-2023 17:36:53 JST jerry1970 @apps @NiemPseu I never realised I could add multiple accounts in the app! I was using a PWA because they interface was less confusing but this is an awesome feature. Friendica and Mastodon accounts in one app, that's what I like. 😊
