@SuperDicq Thanks for asking. The short answer is I'd prefer it to be fully open source. There's nothing stopping Qt apps that don't use the proprietary Silica widgets working on Sailfish OS, but if you want something with a Sailfish OS look-and-feel, then you have to use them.

But this is a compromise for me. The fully open source mobile distros (postmarketOS, UBports, etc.) aren't yet a replacement for Android or iOS in the way Sailfish OS is. That's my personal experience.

Really had an amazing day at #FOSDEM today. The #LinuxOnMobile stand was absolutely *heaving* all day (as were our neighbouring @postmarketOS and @calyxos stands) even after all the other stands had left.

So much interest in #AsteroidOS, #SailfishOS, #Mobian and @linmob So great to see so many new and familiar faces.

My only regret is that I didn't get to go to any talks. I'll have to set aside two weekends to watch all the videos!

@devrtz I've been there myself: with any live demo you (rightly) ought to be focussed on the audience rather than any unexpected problem solving. But your demo was very effective: it showed it worked, but also that it's proper bleeding-edge stuff.

@devrtz Great talk; loved it! A pretty comprehensive tour and snapshot of Linux on Mobile. Despite the camera glitch, I particularly liked the demo. Wish I could have been there in person; thanks for sharing.
