All of these systems that are trauma-based systems (society, capitalism, white supremacy culture, patriarchy, etc.), expect the impossible from us.
They expect us to work full time, take care of kids, have good relationships, have a broad social network, change the world and do it all without breaking a sweat, and never complaining, and never noticing that you need anything ever.
@andolamin That's only possible until a point, and then bankruptcy...burnout.
When our sensory needs arenāt met, when theyāre ignored, that increases anxiety and higher anxiety activates the stress responses in the nervous system, which makes sensory processing even more challenging.
