Oh so NOW Threads is making all these changes, after Bluesky is shaking them up. we said for a long time the algorithm was encouraging engagement bait and blue check marks. threads is now dead last after Mastodon and Bluesky for me.
With all the issues Meta has had over the years there are still people licking their boots and favoring Threads. Personally I still prefer and plan to stay on #Mastodon and #Bluesky. #Threads was just kind of… there
Stop saving passwords in your browser! It is a security issue no matter what you think! Use a proper password manager and then just use an extension to use them in your password manager!
I really think there needs to be an implemention of shared blocklisting where we can federate blocks from sources we choose. Apparently Bluesky has some features related to this, and I think it needs to be revisited to help for some of these spam attacks. This is the second wave of spam attacks. It's still small, but it may amplify and become as problematic as a few months ago.
Setup a filter to deal with the new wave of spam attacks by just filtering the domain they repeatedly use.

This worked well with the last spam wave as well.
Would be really nice if we had some kind of a shared blocklisting/filtering feature similar to what Bluesky has rolled out as I can't keep blocking domains so fast as I am the sole Admin/Moderator for my server .
Some users need to really stop being so pushy and entitled. You put a ticket in on a Friday late in the afternoon, it's Monday morning. You probably should have planned better than late on a Friday.
Lack of preparation on your part does not constitute an emergency on mine.
@MastodonEngineering@EC_NGI this is pretty cool, and means it will be even easier to use Mastodon and such over time. As a small server for just me and a few friends this will be fantastic. I am already pretty well federated but this will make it by far easier in the future.
I am tinkering with Twitter/X on a dummy account to see how enshittified it has become. Wow, I literally only follow one account and have it set to notify from that account, and yet I get 5-6 notifications a day for accounts I never knew existed. All of them are Twitter verified. So that's how they are pushing more engagement and that waters down the whole point of notifications.
I’m close to fediblocking momostr.pink because there is one annoying person making reply guy bots just cloning messages and they’ve made multiple accounts to do it #fediblockmeta#mastoadmin
So here’s the unfortunate reality: Threads has about 130M users, they are planning to support ActivityPub it’s just in beta which will allow interoperability with Mastodon and etc. Bluesky is 8.4M last I checked
Yes some fedi servers don’t want to federate with Meta but it’s an uphill battle RN for Bluesky
