@dansup I think implementing user blocks is definitely the way. The hardliners that don't want Meta to enter the fediverse are never going to win out in the long run. If Meta wants to join the fediverse, they will. They have too big of a user base for that not to happen. And right or wrong, the people against it are fighting a losing battle. Better in my opinion to figure out how to live alongside Meta's presence here.

@fediforum What's going on with the video quality? It was uploaded to YouTube at 360p?? What is this, the early 2000's?

@dansup If successful, would you consider implementing this algorithm in PixelFed as well? PixelFed is a fun platform, but I sometimes struggle to find content creators I like enough to follow.

Reading through all of this, it gives off the vibe of you blowing a situation way out of proportion based off your personal issues with @kainoa. People on your instance are likely to just see your side of this and assume the worst of the others involved. I don't think this is a wise decision for your community as a whole, and instead of defederating there should be some form of admin communication to work through this issue.
