but what does a grant do in this case. does giving a grant to a foundation forces the foundation to skew their decision the bad way? can the foundation simply say, "thanks for your money, but we do whatever we wanna do. so stop bossing us around."?

in #activitypub, an remote actor have an optional icon object, which essentially it's the actor's avatar metadata.

but in #mastodon api, the icon object doesn't carry an "id" field in itself, so i cannot correctly map this icon into a more generic "attachments" table (because it requires the presence of id field) in my local instance when i import the remote actor.

some ppl created icon as jsonb to facilitate this non-generic "icon" field.

which isn't a great solution in its api design.

i could dedicate an "actor_icons" table that doesn't require the "id" for this. but it's a stupid solution, very stupid :blobcatfacepalm:

@BeAware it could be nice if server side support subscription based on a compound hashtag (aka a combo of a few hashtags)... so if i am sub to "ActivityPub" AND "Protocol", it might be niche enough for my "feed" to not be filled with less relevant posts with different misaligned intents
