@solidsanek@outerheaven.club the only downside is you're firing out your entire COAM payment in bullets downrange. But it gets the job done both in pvp and pve!
@puniko@mk.absturztau.be when you finally see some random indie game published saying "Made with Redot" you'll just know what kinda people they are, lol.
I just remembered an except from the Altered Carbon book, where Kovacz is walking around on the streets of Earth, and he literally has to have an adblocker installed on his prefrontal cortex because every building he walks past tries to beam their advertisement directly into his brain, implying that this is just normal and everyone else is under that constant bombardment.
I don't want that future to exist but I don't trust it not to.:neofox_scream:
@NaClKnight@mstdn.games yeah you're right on the first point. I gave up PVP on Armored Core (and Gundam BO2 but that's another story) a mech game where I REALLY enjoyed the pvp gameplay because the balance and netcode were D O G S H I T. Seriously I cannot put into words how bad (the literal only worse game at that was GBO2, which is why I mentioned it)
sigh
anyway, I liked PVP in Dark Souls, because it was a quick, fun and immediate way to try out and experience new wildly different builds to what I usually used in PVE. But eventually not even that could keep me playing, and ER/AC6 was so bad I gave up on FromSoft games pvp forever. Still love their games tho, just in PVE now.
@NaClKnight@mstdn.games I've done a lot of things over the years in Souls games... I got in too late for multiplayer on DS1, but I at least played with a friend on a second character. DS3 I played at launch, did tons of Sunbro coop, did a full co-op run with the same friend, then made a million PvP builds. Eventually lost all of those, never really picked up the game again.
Got Elden Ring on release, tried some co-op but after realizing how absolutely busted and unbalanced certain weapons were in PvP, I didn't even want to try anymore. If I ever get back into that game I'll do full solo or modded coop.
I want to -watch EVO -read my current 40K book (Bloodreaver) -play Helldivers 2 -play No Man's Sky -play like 3 other games of different genres each -go do some more tracker music work -grab some ice cream
you know sometimes I think I should get tested for ADHD the other times I am certain that I should :blobfoxangrylaugh:
@a1ba@suya.place I literally always thought they were both a security and a longevity risk, and I'm not glad to see that I'm right. Curse Twitter for making people feel the need to shorten their URLs so much. I've seen several other smaller shortener services dying over the years but this is the worst one.
I see more and more people building retro computers for fun. I don't know if it's just because I'm on certain niche internet communities (Fedi lol) or if it's really a trend that's happening. Makes me want to start doing it too, hopefully before the prices of old PC hardware get too rare and expensive.
@NaClKnight@mstdn.games might seem weird for someone who mostly plays FPS and RTS games, but for almost any other genre of game, I'll pull out my XBox controller. Basically for anything that doesn't require the use or precision of a mouse. But yeah, that also means that my gaming time is pretty evenly split between the two input methods. And then there's my simracing steering wheel, that I won't go without on my driving games like Assetto Corsa, Automobilista 2 or Truck Simulator.
@Jain@blob.cat Nah don't bother. It's just a desperate attempt of their idiot CEO to get engagement numbers up again before their opening up for sale. I did take part in the previous years though. It was really fun, sad that you missed it. I think there's alternative canvases out there not hosted by them.
Certified foxgirl enjoyer. Weeb, but hasn't properly watched anime in ages. Gamer of incresingly niche subgenres. Aficionado of racecars, mechas, fighter jets, and any other vehicles you can think of. Lives in the wrong side of the planet compared to all my friends.Made accounts in 278 different instances in the Fediverse after escaping Reddit, is still kind of lost. Doesn't know how hashtags work.
