"The exposed repositories reportedly contain Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) templates, DevOps automation scripts, and credential management configurations that adversaries could leverage for secondary infiltration attempts against Red Hatโs consulting clients."
There is an on-going malware attack targeting users of GitHub Desktop by buying ads on search engines that link to a committed Readme files on the GitHub Desktop repo with links to malicious versions of the app. This attack is on-going. I just found another attempt from a few days ago.
I found an Ad of the same kind on Duck Duck Go, so it's not just Google.
The details of the attack are described in detail in this article.
@RickiTarr It's the whole conservative "Christian" idea that if something bad happens to you, it isn't just random bad luck, but because you're a bad person and therefore deserve it. Likewise, the rich have done something to deserve it. Possibly the most un-Christ-like idea in all of the conservative Christian mindset.
Nice little fun fact in the extras on the Star Trek Enterprise Blurays I just got:
At Paramount's studios they have exterior sets on the campus, including a "New York backlot" with a few brownstones and other buildings and streets. It shows up multiple times in Star Trek, including, "A Piece of the Action" (TOS), "Time's Arrow" (TNG), "Past Tense" (DS9), "11:59" (VOY). "The Expanse" (ENT), and "Storm Front" (ENT).
@paulk To be more precise: For home networks, I think ethernet usually runs up to 2.5 Gbit/s and Wifi to ~3 Gbit/s, but they keep adding new standards. I've more or less lost track these days.
USB 3 has a max speed of 5 Gbit/s, so the high end 10 Gbit/s + range is too fast either way. Wifi speeds drop at lower signal quality, which can be a challenge. Ethernet is dependant on cable quality and distance too.
Trump is declaring all his predecessors were fooled by Putin, but not him! He's the only one who were not fooled!
The reality is that when it comes to dealing with Putin, few if any have been as gullible as Trump. As always, the spin could make a merry-go-round dizzy.
@astroroyalscot.bsky.social My cousin sent me a cash gift for my confirmation when I was 15 (1992) addressed only with my name and the municipality I lived in. No post code. The municipality was not a part of my address at all, and he spelled it wrong and instead used the name of a completely different municipality in a different part of the country.
I still got the letter though! And my cash gift. ๐
The amount of Trump stuff in US late night shows is, like it was last time, tiring. However, Colbert's "Tariff Fairy" bit is both funny, and on point. ๐
"I don't change my mind, but I'm flexible" says the guy who changes his mind on policy at a whim. ๐
So far, I've rewatched: * The Mandalorian S1 and S2 * Episode I, II and III * Andor S1 * Solo * Andor S2 (not a rewatch, obviously) * Rogue One * Episodes IV, V and VI
In between I've also been watching: * The Clone Wars S4-S7, almost done.
I'm also continuing: * The Book of Boba Fett * The Mandalorian S3 * Ahsoka * Episodes VII, VIII and IX
I'm also considering watching Andor S1 and S2 one more time, because it's just that good.
Non-political my ass. Eurovision is making a political choice either way, and they chose evil. I will never forget it. Seeing it unfold makes me sick. I'm logging off until this is over.
@aral Watching them perform on stage while their soldiers commit unspeakable crimes is so far beyond anything I can stomach. It's sickening how people pretend it is business as usual.
@georgetakei Yeah, it's baffling that people keep believing it. I guess there is a lot of truth to the saying that refuting a lie is a lot harder than making the lie.
The latest chapter of Andor ... holy shit what a tense and emotional ride. Not only is it excellent story telling, but it also feels very much relevant for our time.
I went back to my home town yesterday for an overnight trip, and this moring I drove to the small town my dad grew up in, which sits in a narrow Norwegian fjorth surrounded by steep mountains.
These images are from the innermost part of the fjorth where the two oldest remaining houses stand. My great grandfather was born there in 1892.
The rock overhang is below a large cliff face, and there are traces of habitants dating back about 6000 years. The site is now a historical site.
