this is really difficult to discuss, due to the current landscape of vocabulary & associations, and still:

i think that by too closely associating all senses of "goal-orientation", "achievement", and "productivity" with jobs/careers/capitalism, there's a risk of discarding entire channels of pleasure, satisfaction, and fulfillment.

@dahukanna i'm not sure how much @Miniver has been discussing UX over here, but i'm tagging b/c 1) his design posts elsewhere are awesome, and 2) he might have further directions to suggest here.
