@inthehands this all fits very nicely in with my firm belief that the most important skill that should make a developer more senior than another is their ability to share knowledge effectively and frequently :)

If you can clearly and simply explain complex things at a high level to execs as well as help other devs understand the little details, and actively try to find ways to share things you learn and better ways of doing stuff with other people as part of your regular work, you're far more valuable imo than a hotshot coder

Does anyone know any good resources for a software engineer thinking of moving into being a security engineer?

I think I've got a pretty good general grasp of security stuff but I wanna be able to brush up and make sure I'm not missing crucial things and I've an interview on Wednesday (short notice so I won't be too upset if I don't get it)

Mainly wanting to know about service architecture security type stuff rather than, say, endpoint security type stuff

The thing that bothers me about Star Trek is:

Given whatever facet of starship design requires that touchscreen consoles be filled with pyrotechnics so that they can explode dramatically in people's faces proportionally to the remaining shield percentage...

Why aren't there hard hats and safety glasses issued to the crew or available at regular intervals throughout the ship? Sure they've got dermal regenerators and whatnot, but it just seems irresponsible

Can anyone recommend any instances that are:
* Ok with NSFW images/nudity
* Have a large character limit (preferably >= 1000)
* Trans positive

Alternatively, I'd also be interested in recommendations for software to run a single user instance myself
