@dave Yes, I had a partner who was like this… He would want to be intimate after an argument, and I would still be upset because I was trying to find the words to express my feelings, and when I get like that, I am very disregulated and oversensitive to any kind of sensory input, so I do not actually even want to be touched. I want to be left alone to figure out how I feel, but this person's emotions could just turn on a dime. It was wild.

Meanwhile, you do not want my hands that close to your throat! Trust me! One of the things I find most frustrating about Neurotypical people is the way that everything has to happen right now! We have to talk about our feelings right now. They don't understand that I don't know and I need time to process.

@gocu54 Me too! That used to be my favorite game. I used to put all of the bullies in my class on my expedition and then laughed as they died of dysentery. Yeah I had issues as a kid… Who am I kidding, I have issues still! But I do remember that and laughing about it.

I realize that what I'm about to say probably comes across as extremely bitchy, but.... People who write half ass alt text really annoy me. For example, if you are posting a meme, or an infographic and in the alt text field you just write Infographic or meme on xyz topic, you aren't.... actually doing alt text. It's more like performative alt text. You should describe what is happening, transcribe the text if any, and include things which clarify the point. OK I'm done being grumpy for now! 💩😈

@GamingWithEars Also understand that just because YOU interact with language auditorily or phonetically, doesn't mean everyone else does so when you write an email full of misspelled words but which I'm sure sound great with the screen reader voice, it doesn't mean your intended recipient can figure out WTF you're saying. Because they don't process language that way. *points to self*

Traveling through this world as a disabled person it is often the daily microaggressions from people who claim to love or who respect you that are the most exhausting and disheartening. I try not to let them affect me too much or I would go through a large majority of my days simmering with anger and that helps no one, but turning the other cheek sometimes makes you feel like your neck is breaking! Then, when you try to explain, you are told that you are being too sensitive!

I'm interested in talking to folks who have traveled to Europe, specifically the UK from the US with their #GuideDog or #Service Dog. Also in any recommendations for travel agents who specialize in clients with dogs traveling to the UK. I feel like I want a smarter person with more experience to hold my hand and help me with my paperwork if I'm going to pull this off.

I just spoke with my specialty pharmacy who handles my biologics, and they told me that the shipping carrier who handles my (refrigerated) injections may be fixing to strike on 1 August. So if you live in the US, and take medications that required shipment/refrigeration, you may want to speak to the pharmacy about refilling before the strike date so you don't have a gap of time without meds.
