Edit: And I cannot help that most of the 'But Trump' sentiment comes from a fear that fascism reaches them while the fascism that only reaches brown people and marginalized groups can be sneered at but ultimately ignored.

I think this is one of the most persuasive features of fascism. It tends to largely empower the most mediocre people to let loose and start a revenge against people who exhibit (admirable) traits they lack themselves.

Think of every micromanaging middle-management type ever, and you realise that the endgoal of fascism always is nothing more than to make these unremarkable people into bullies with power.

There are people on here that understand that criticism of the Israeli government is not antisemitism (which is true) but then say critics of Biden are pro-Trump.

We didn't "chase away" the influencers, journos or celebrities.

They either never came here or left the moment they realised that there is no monetization of attention here, no algorithm to game.

These are the people who are used to posting into the void, getting attention, clicks and money without ever having to interact. These are the VERY people who made most social media unbearable.

And they went back to the Nazi bars for their dopamine.

Is Mastodon perfect? Of course it isn't. But it's fun if you participate. You cannot just consume the feed here. You have to be a part of the feed, you have to curate. And if you'd rather go back and look up what a Kardashian has to say about the state of the world: be my guest.

But please stop this jammering about "growth". There are a lot of people here who are simply done with unchecked growth for growth's sake.

@Alice I know that, but the Pro-Biden camp (esp. on here) is atrocious and has the weirdest tone trying to drum up interest in the man.

Also, I am pretty sure that even a lot of the critics will vote Biden anyway because they are not stupid.

People who still think that capitalism will work out if we just regulate it enough or in the right way are the dumbest fucks around.

1.) Your McCarthy is showing.
2.) There's more than one way to do this "communal" thing.
3.) Apart from bloody tankies most leftists agree with you that neither the Soviet Union, China or Cuba are worth aspiring to.

4.) Scandinavian countries are RICH and have to take care of relatively small populations.
5.) Scandinavian countries are RICH because of FOSSIL FUELS.

Think about this for a while and then shut the fuck up.

6.) Right wing/fascist parties are on the rise all over Scandinavian because even the well-regulated capitalism is failing. (for more examples: see Germany)

It cannot be reformed. It will not solve the issues it creates. #Capitalism has to go. It works in tandem with #fascism (see Joe Biden).

As long as you do not get into your head that antifascism, anticapitalism and anti-climate-crisis are the same fight, we will lose it.

Then, a few years back, my mum and I found out that my grandfather (whom I've never met, he died when my mother was 11) was a Sorb.

- no one is fully an introvert
