In today’s episode of “I can build a shortcut for that,” it’s a two-fer. First, not a new build, but I added my “Share Now Playing”shortcut to the Control Center on my iPad, which I’ve now used twice this week. #Shortcuts#iOS#iPadOS#iPadOS18
@WarnerCrocker I’m not mad that they used AI to generate that image; I’m mad that they were too lazy and/or dumb to review it before publishing. Takes a minute to generate a new one. No need to stick with the image that shows whatever the f*** they’re doing with those lightsabers.
Ok, Dems. Biden is stepping down, Harris is stepping up. Time to raise up the candidate who we trusted to step in as President, who already served briefly as President, or give up.
@WarnerCrocker Dems have a Pres overseeing a thriving economy and a VP who is stepping up while he’s sick (and once assumed the top job for an hour), ready to build on his policies. Instead of dumping Biden/Harris, they double down on Harris and raise her visibility. She should be campaigning hard with a team of potential new VPs to assure everyone there’s a plan for when Biden steps down next year (sorry, “if”). Only reason to start fresh is to dump Harris.
Happy Independence Day to all the rich white dudes living the Founding Fathers’ dream! To the rest of us who rely on good Supreme Court decisions for comparable freedoms, one of those freedoms is the right to vote. Use it or lose it.
@WarnerCrocker the time for change was when the then-current President declared journalists an enemy of the state. All they can do now is feed the orange clown his beloved ratings.
Now that we’ve had a day to unclench, I would point out that SCOTUS did not put the *sitting* President above the law. The problem lies in this law…
“Judgment in Cases of Impeachment shall not extend further than to removal from Office, and disqualification to hold and enjoy any Office of honor, Trust or Profit under the United States: but the Party convicted shall nevertheless be liable and subject to Indictment, Trial, Judgment and Punishment, according to Law.” https://constitution.congress.gov/browse/article-1/section-3/clause-7/
Had Trump been convicted in either of his impeachments, his acts while President would be prosecutable, but he wasn’t. Biden, however, can still be impeached and convicted. Thus, SCOTUS has given the sitting President no more power than was already afforded the office. Their decision simply pays off Mitch McConnell’s “kick the can” gambit in shielding Trump from legal action. (Not that it was much of a risk given MM had packed the court.)
Funny coincidence: I went Wayback twice recently to revisit my old ink blog and again for a work mishap. I explained that and what the Wayback Machine is to my wife when we watched this story.
@WarnerCrocker Is there a squabble? The beta launch is in U.S. English, which gives them a solid year to figure out how and if it can launch in the EU. It only becomes a problem if the EU withholds guidance before it exits beta (which will probably still be a year before I get regular access to Apple Intelligence).
