What steps do I need to take? Here’s what I’m thinking should work…

Export my followers/following lists from the old server.

Import my followers/following lists to the new server.

Change DNS.

Will this work?

@MediaActivist Hi, Jay. In what limited experience I’ve had with the kind of cables you describe, the quality is usually poor. I would recommend something like this:

It provides the same functionality (XLR-to-USB), but also headphone controls and computer/mic mixing. Pyle is a decent entry-level brand, too. (e.g.; a similar device from Shure is 120% more costly)

When I started on Mastodon, people would advise me to “only Boost posts.” Since there’s no algorithm that places a value on Favorites, “only Boosts have value.”

I disagree completely.

When people Favorite my posts, they unwittingly introduce themselves to me. I have discovered some very interesting people that I may not have if they didn’t Favorite my posts.
