I am watching Vance with the sound off, and he’s even more awful. He looks like a high school teacher from any Lifetime movie. Meanwhile, Trump is doing his Jabba the Hut impression on national TV.

You can’t go into a race this close without high octane morale and enthusiasm on the ground in 50 states. And I just can’t see them getting that back in 3 months without this pivot. And please remember, a woman as @potus is still a dream for millions. She has so many strengths, and recent polls are completely flipping.

I’m starting to think that the Dump Biden movement may have a totally unexpected outcome. I am sensing a new fire in the belly, and a whole new resolve by the rank and file Democrats who have to GOTV, and a whole lot more attention being paid by the broader public that is normally not seen until labor day. With Harris as his backup, I cannot see any sane person voting for Trump because of Biden’s age. Not happening.

Brace yourselves. The unfathomably fascist-leaning @nytimes has launched an interactive scorecard to track the Dump Biden movement which they deny they are fomenting intentionally.

They now seem to rubbing this ratfucking of @Potus in our faces.

As I have been doing for days, Josh Marshall is now calmly trying to prepare people for Biden withdrawing. All of his points are good, but he just doesn’t want to use the word “resign” which would make Kamala the @potus and give her the power of incumbency, completely transforming the race.

The term “Open Social” is finally started to stick a bit. I still don’t get the logic of calling AP networks, “the fediverse.” It clarifies nothing, and confuses routinely. It’s time to let it go. An “AP-based Open Social network” seems sufficient, and doesn’t beg the question, “if you’re on the “fediverse,” where is everyone else?”

The post interview press was just as brutal as I expected. I just do not understand how anyone could have imagined a different outcome. The press thrives on ratfucking Democrats. This was just giving them a second bite of the apple.

@mckra1g Joy and I have been good friends since I first helped spread the word about her Miami Herald columns in 2009. We don’t always agree on every issue, but on this one, we are completely in sync. I have always maintained that she is among the most talented US domestic politics analysts working today. Even when being entertaining AF.

@mckra1g Haha! She is quite awesome, I confess. FYI, joy and I wrote the original (much longer) version of this together. But at the time, we were calling them “emo-progs.” I later changed it because I didn’t want to suggest emotions were bad.
