@nottrobin There are few if any “swing voters” at this point. That’s a media conceit driven by hideously erratic polling. He needs to talk to everyone else, because this election will once again be all about GOTV. And that’s where we will have an advantage. The future of this nation will come down to TikTok influencers who understand that fascism is worse than bad, hair, makeup or music. A lot worse.

4 months is all we have left before the most consequential election in world history. I won’t waste me time on useless people with even more useless arguments. Ideal societies can only be built when you have some fucking control over people and events in your hand, not just your genitalia.

G’morning. I’m in no mood for any of this Trump bullshit, and since it’s my birthday today, and it’s our natural right to ignore all of it for 24 hours if we so choose. That doesn’t mean I will. Only that I have a right to, until Sam Alito takes it away.

Overheard talking to itself, the US press seems to believe that after a bad night, 99.9% of Biden voters have decided to switch their vote to the murderous insurrectionist promising to nullify the constitution, regulate a woman’s womb, declare a national religion, and imprison all of its enemies.

@EyalL That’s all supposition based on absolutely nothing but old campaign and election lore. The one thing Americans have learned lately is that precedent in our politics is a thing of the past. We’ve never been here before, and anyone who pretends to predict where we will end up is either a liar, a lunatic, or a drunk.

So, why aren’t congressional democrats investigating exactly what the FBI knows, and has probably always known about Trump and Russia. They must have a file 50 feet thick. Mueller swept it all under our national rug. Maybe it’s time we lift it up and have a looksee?

It’s hard to believe any SCOTUS decision could be worse than Dobbs, but I absolutely guarantee we will rue this day when people understand just how impossible it will soon be to regulate ANYTHING again. And the coming lawsuits will so inundate the courts, they won’t be able to do anything else for decades.

Welp, as I warned, SCOTUS overturned Chevron. This was the holy grail for polluters, and all mega-wealthy conservative extremists. It will be used to gut almost every environmental, health and welfare regulation passed since the 1930s. It’s simply the biggest harm of the conservative age yet, but our complicit press fails to alert the public.

The stock market is soaring over news that SCOTUS just declared open season on every health, education, and safety regulation we have. Profits will skyrocket as corporations can relax expensive safeguards and precautions. Recklessness will now be the new growth industry.

Just remember, folks. As I’ve said for years, Democrats are just politicians. Saving this democracy should never come down to any one person. We all have to step up and do something. Because once it’s gone, we’re done. No do-overs. We’re done.

Think about how we just got punked by Malone’s CNN. They knew that unfiltered Trump would be reality-show perfect. They knew it. And they pushed hard for this no fact check moderation. It was meant from the start to be a monologue delivery system with token questions to make it feel journalismy. We didn’t get kissed, but we sure got fucked.

Having Donald Trump “debate” without real-time fact checking is sort of like asking a serial rapist what his intentions are with your daughter.

I am a full supporter of the idea that Threads may be a useful stepping-stone in our efforts to create a decentralized, Open Social. But I also think some of the unskeptical enthusiasm and cheerleading is ill-advised. There is a lot that can go wrong, and we should not be seduced by a Meta agenda and game plan that only Meta knows the actual details of.
