We have a tentative release window. I’m still chewing on that press release. If I was okay with just like listing all the new features it would be done. But I think that’s super boring and lame so I want a narrative and that’s a lot more involved 😩

If you want to ship your app in a cross-platform bundle format that users can download from your own website, use Flatpak

If you want to ship your app in a cross-platform store that users can download from any Linux distro, use Flatpak

If you want to manage your own updates repository and make sure your users get updates directly from you, use Flatpak

Flatpak can do all of these things

If you’re using AppImage to ship your app on desktop Linux you’re doing a huge disservice to your users by perpetuating the use of a broken by design format that doesn’t even work on the most popular Linux distros without jumping into a terminal. Please stop shipping this format. Don’t use it. Don’t let your friends use it. Package any other way than this please

@elementary most recently I fixed battery levels for Bluetooth devices that use coarse battery levels rather than percentages, and I did a new set of battery icons that have way more fine-grained levels! It’s those little details ✨

A really good guy doesn’t continually push boundaries when they’re clearly making someone uncomfortable. Today a man harassed one of my friends, kept touching her, made inappropriate comments. Continually pushing boundaries. Two of us had to tell him to knock it off and he was being inappropriate before he would leave her alone. Then he tried to come back like 10 minutes later. Had to ask the bartender to intervene.

There were several men around. Not only did none of them do anything to help, they were all very quick to be like, “oh he was just drunk. He’s actually a really good guy”.

Your regular reminder that you can’t create cold air, you can only put heat somewhere else. So if you’re running your AC when it’s cold outside you are just heating up the outside for no reason at all. Just adding heat energy to the very real climate crisis for absolutely no reason
