I'll write about it more in the next #LancerTactics backer update, but I had a crisis of faith about doing the GBA fire emblem visual-novel style for conversations. The fact that all the characters are facing head-on made it look like an awkward zoom call.
So we threw it out and redesigned the whole thing as more of a free-form Tales of Symphonia/Gravity Rush/The World Ends With You-esque comic panel thing! I feel soooo much better about this than the old one.
@clarity@annika@aratinga I feel similarly! I can think of a few times when I turned around and saw you and was like oh thank god and relaxed immediately
Went on a research bender last weekend and made this taxonomic tree of game dialogue UI (categorical, not chronological). Interesting to see the links between different groups and how they can morph into each other one change at a time. #gamedesign#gamedev#ui
Just learned, in order: 1. About "doggerland", the landbridge/landmass that connected the UK to Europe. 2. Theories that there was an Ice Age megaflood in North Amera that was so large it helped raise the sea level enough to flood Doggerland.
3. NOPE IT WAS SOMETHING CALLED LAKE AGASSIZ. There was a *different* catastrophic NA glacial lake megaflood? On the east coast, instead?
> google "Lake Agassiz vs missoula flood"
> read an article that goes into various superfloods. Neat! That was comprehensive. > Wait, why is the last section called "Creationist Ice Age Implication"...? > oh no
4. Apparently there's a large body of Creationist literature on prehistoric floods. I just read and liked something from creation.com. Ehhhh oops
@clarity Best case: the clams that run Warsaw's water quality monitoring. Worst case: that one fish that committed credit card fraud via the twitch stream it was controlling.
