Just learned, in order:
1. About "doggerland", the landbridge/landmass that connected the UK to Europe.
2. Theories that there was an Ice Age megaflood in North Amera that was so large it helped raise the sea level enough to flood Doggerland.

3. NOPE IT WAS SOMETHING CALLED LAKE AGASSIZ. There was a *different* catastrophic NA glacial lake megaflood? On the east coast, instead?

It's the weekend!! I'm finally freeeeeee

I just biked to the post office! By myself! I had fear but I was able to push my comfort zone and managed to overcome the snag of having forgotten my phone for directions; handily, since I'm using my PO box for the return address, I had a backpack full of letters with my destinations exact street address written on them 😄

Just swung by the Powell's warehouse sale. 5000 people were there by 10:00 and the building capacity was 400. We got there at 3 and the folks at the front of the line had been there since 11.

Luckily the NW Marine Art Works studio was having an open house and it was room after room of gorgeous creative styles. Some humans make art like birds make nests or beavers build dams.

The first public Lancer alpha is imminent! Our alpha release plan: today we'll do a small windows-only release in the PilotNET thread for the people who have been following closely, let it bake over the weekend as this small group plays it and reports bugs, and then do a round of fixes before sending an updated alpha out to Kickstarter backers early next week.

Ugh, I upgraded my macbook to Sonoma for work and now Godot has a new crop of impossible-to-remedy-from-where-I'm-standing errors. The week I was hoping to get an alpha out. I feel sick.

(natural FPS has dropped from 120 to sub-60, entire game feels slower, emitting particles & using shaders lags the game something awful)

I don't have any idea what the reality of this org is, but the whiplash between "#{PROJECT_URL.capitalize()} on #{PLATFORM}" and "charity for children's hospitals" smells like a heartstrings scam.

@clarity Some do require more game-view machinery in place (anything that requires a virtual player choice, for example) and you can actually see the game playing through those as the suite runs.

@clarity yeah the frontend/ui ones are definitely the most finicky and fragile (tho one of them was what saved me in this case) but since the game's turn-based and I've done such a gold-star job keeping most of the action in mostly-functional methods, the bulk of the most helpful tests are pretty straightforward runs of game logic like this.

I'd love to give you a in person tour sometime and hear your thoughts!
