During my aimlessness this week I discovered a set of wee animations that I've never added to my website for some reason*

I took these shoddy photos of a lunar eclipse in 2007 & scribbled on them some time later. Then abandoned it. Was going to go back to the source to do a better version because I like the idea, but the source is shockingly bad so really not worth it.

Anyhow, have a teenage moody moon.

* the main reason being that they're a bit pants, but shush

Today I accidentally became Tormentor of Snails, as I tried to make progress on the garden pre-winter tidy-up & kept uncovering their hidey-holes. Apologies to snails everywhere (but mainly the ones in my garden).

Damn. This video has been going round my brain since I typed the words "my ducks are all over the place" & I know I've posted it before, but I can't find the post to boost so... ducks on a slide!

So recently OpenAI has been stomping around my (silly, personal, non-commercial) website using GBs of bandwidth in a rather rude, arrogant & brutish manner.

We were going to block it, but Mr Tech pointed out that it had got caught in the Riddle-o-Matic, some silliness that we made about 25 years ago (for reasons unremembered) & it is consuming never-ending nonsense.

"It's basically ChatGPT poison" he said. "Shall we leave it?"

"Aye, may as well"

@neil FWIW I have spent a surprising amount of time (as someone who does a lot of website work, but who has also done some app stuff) persuading people that they want a website NOT an app.

I fear there was some business course out there convincing business folk that they needed an app to be seen as 'players' (from app developers presumably).

I'm team website all the way. From a user point of view I don't want to have to install apps for everyone & IMO websites are easier to build & maintain.

@morph Would you have gone with the majority?

tbh the comments were the interesting bit (issues around ID on the dog, tracing people through them if the location was obvious etc. and quite a lot of people just liking their dog being loved!)

I am really pleased with this photo. Straight off the camera and it looks SO WEIRD. So many questions. Why such a HUGE arched bridge over what appears to be such a small distance? Why only one solitary pedestrian using it? Where are they going? Where have they been?
