Someone once called me a "civilized anarchist" because they thought I didn't support direct actions. They assumed very wrongly.
I responded with - Would you say that if I intentionally torched a logging bulldozer machine & wasn't sorry about that?
They were stunned into silence. People like that would be the first to turn me over to the fascist cops, if they ever got arrested themselves. That's why I do not trust them. I vet everyone who wants to join me on frontlines. I don't let folks who behave like above described in. They're dangerous to frontlines community.

@dmm ~ I was stationed In Oklahoma for a short time. We rode down to Wichita Falls, TX, before getting to the town we stopped at a 2nd Baptist church we were told about. The church was rocking and an unbelievable chorus. Then Duane marches up to the pulpit and is welcomed and introduced to us. I did not move for an hour. I remember him well, this was in 1970.

What we need is a radical, rebellious, fuck you optimism. The kind that spits in the face of despair and keeps moving forward anyway, middle finger raised and teeth bared.

After a half century of watching humans behave badly in large groups, I've learned to keep my hand on my wallet and my other hand on the doorknob whenever a political movement stops by my doorstep to ask for support.

I can't tell you the number of times that I've seen movements run by and trashed by their own internal social hierarchy, which so often comes to reflect major aspects of the social hierarchy that the movement claims to want to dismantle.

Today would be a good day to donate to your instance and/or volunteer to help with moderation.

Folks are working really hard clearing out spam bots this weekend.

Tech is good, but communities are built by people taking care of each other.
