@screwtape@mastodon.sdf.org to be honest, topically it is quite boring still. But i've been there for like 2 and half year, and i'm finally starting to find a nice little niche. This holiday i dived into the techincalities, and i'm totally blown away. It removes so many pain points of the fedi. It's not perfect, but it's evolving very fast and there is careful attention to protocol consensus. Which something that seems to really lack among the website boys 😞

Personally, i am more attached to identity than i am to the data i create. Most datum i create with my digital identities, are ephemeral in nature. Unless they aren't but then the data is rarely confined to one environment. (platforms, devices). Frankly, i'm not sure if that's even possible with the assumptions of activitypub. 🤷♂️ A fork maybe... a migration that would painful 😅

That's the only thing i feel bluesky done slightly right: at least pretend to adhere to some sort of DID standard.

An application that ports database and everything needed from one platform to the other would really create some interesting action in development. Right now i feel like every single one of the famous projects are getting very comfortable in their trenches because of how ownership of identity works. There's definitely imbalance in the force 🐈⬛
