Sometimes I get a follow request from a someone with no previous interactions. That tends to leave me feeling suspicious as to why they followed me.

Sometimes I let the request "float" for a few days while I watch the person's account.

When this particular follow request came in, I got a hint of skeezy "chaser vibe" from him.

But I wasn't sure. So I waited.

I noticed today that he posted this (see below). Yeah, I'm getting a vibe of poor sexual boundaries from a TMI post like that.

I have heard of chasers in lesbian/queer women's communities who seek out trans men.

But again, my knowledge is pretty limited.

A part of this response is born from the experience of having ended my relationship with a friend with whom I shared a friendship as deep as any romantic relationship but completely platonic in nature.

I was bullied, beaten, and scarred by these systems from my youngest years onward. It's part of the unfortunate landscape of being trans/queer in this culture.

I carry a lot of trauma with me. I always will.

If I find myself on the opposite side of a political difference where you are supporting a violent system and I'm opposing it, our relationship is unlikely to survive.

I start to pull back when I realize this.

I grow quiet.

I create distance.

And our relationship fades.

I've ended relationships with many people in my life over incompatible differences in politics.

I don't take politics lightly because politics, more often than not, entwines with systems of violence and abuse.

My politics are guided by opposition to systems of violence and abuse, and these things are VERY personal for me, being someone whose life has been restricted and traumatized by systems of violence and abuse.

I don't take people's support of or neutrality toward those systems lightly.

So, I have to do a "wellness check" on a chosen family member.

They're probably fine. But they don't know how their cell phone works and they keep on turning off the ringer.

Off to the world for a bit...

I find each COVID surge to be a reminder of how incredibly stupid and socially dysfunctional our species is.

I wonder how TERFs expect to "trans away the gay" when the person in question is bi?

Whenever I see Gavin Newsom's name in the news, for a moment, I cringe, misremembering him as a Republican.

And then I cringe again when I realize that he's not a Republican but has provided plenty of reasons to remember him as such.

The funny thing is, I was somewhat tempted to send a donation when she first announced that she was the candidate for president.

I had a moment of misjudged excitement.

Boy do I feel stupid now.

Given the behaviors I saw this past week, you will *never* get a donation from me.

Never.

Y'all didn't even let a trans person speak on stage.

Somehow, I doubt the sincerity of your email.

I'm probably alienating a lot of liberals by hitting the Dems so hard with well deserved criticism during the past week.

I would say, "Don't take it personally, it's just politics." but that's not really true. Actually, I do want you to take it personally. You're part of the problem.

Am I being unfair? Eh, first of all, I don't actually care.

But second of all, I've known enough of you across the years to realize the Dem party's politics strongly reflects the tepid, fair weather support that I've personally witnessed you all manifest toward various marginalized groups of people.

So yes, you most definitely ARE a part of the problem.

[sigh] It's going to be a long slog, wading through all of the Democrat praise and worship until I can finally hold my nose and vote for Clinton/Gore in November.

If Dems EVER break out of that tepid mold, I'll start using the actual names of the candidates.

Until then, it will always be 1996.

From here on out, I'm going to use "Clinton/Gore" for every Dem presidential ticket because the politics always remain as disappointing as those two were.

Although, it certainly feels like a betrayal that nature dropped me into this ill fitting body.

I've forgiven nature, though. Nature throws the dice and they just fall were they may. I got a bad roll.

It's humanity that I'm having a hard time forgiving for being such bigoted fuck stains over an unfortunate roll of nature's dice.

@FlashMobOfOne Minnesota is definitely cooler. I've become spoiled living here. I never want to live in the soupy humid summers of Maryland again. Ugh.

It's beautiful here. I miss having mountains but we really do have lakes out the wazoo and that makes this state a lovely place to be.
