I genuinely hate Docker and this whole wave of containerization that's taken over every facet of software development. Too confused to learn something? Just download the image from Docker Hub, follow the one line of instructions, and then you're set!

Reality: when something goes sideways, and it will, you will have no idea how to triage and troubleshoot it.

@jeffjarvis It's inevitable that all media will end up in the hands of right wing oligarchs. It's just a matter of time. There is zero pushback on media consolidation. I was in college when Sinclair bought up every single local TV station even though it was illegal. This is the world we live in, and it sucks.

I officially deleted my Lemmy account because despite the fact that I worked in the embedded/software part of a Lithium Ion/Phosphate company for 11 years, some dickhead told me I was a liar. I left Twitter years ago, left Reddit years ago, and yet when you join a federated service there are still assholes. Mastodon and Pixelfed are the only social media I still maintain. @gamingonlinux I played this with my son over the weekend, and even though I'm not usually susceptible to motion sickness, I had to stop playing after like 10 minutes. The way the characters arms move in front of you and the camera shake occurs just turned my stomach.

@lain I'm old now, but when I was a kid my parents would yell at me for reading for too long and send me outside. I've read the LoTR books 7 times, and The Hobbit like a million times. People should read more books, no matter the subject.
