Ignorance is understandable and easily forgivable for those who want to learn. It's the people who pair it with arrogance that need a good bitchslapping.

Unfortunately, I think social media brings out the arrogant side of a lot of ignorant people.

Reminder: Every time some politician or bureaucrat passes a law that prescribes or proscribes your behavior, it has an unwritten clause:

"Comply, or we will send people to hunt you down and shoot you."

This applies to ALL laws, from how you drive, to the kind of grocery bags or straws you can use, to what plants you are allowed to put in the ground in your home garden.

Advocates pushing for new laws almost never appreciate the full significance of what they're proposing.

Hollywood, our shared cultural bellweather has jettisoned humility as a virtue.

In a Hollywood script from last century, the cocky obnoxious spoiled brat would always get their comeuppance before the end of the movie.

In today's Hollywood, that character is the protagonist, often as not.

Nowhere is this cultural shift more evident than social media, where unearned arrogance is a default mode of discourse.

Your insistence that there's "no evidence" of election fraud rings somewhat hollow when it's your side suppressing and destroying that evidence.

Ink being spilled about Canada requiring companies that host podcasts must be "registered". Assuming even half of it is true (I'm always skeptical), it's fortunately unenforcable. The podcast technology is decentralized; anyone can simply upload an mp3 and RSS file anywhere on the web. Not even the Canadian bureaucracy is prepared to "register" every site on the internet.

Controlled opposition is still opposition.

Stop sniping at each other, and point your anger at the people who are stomping your freedoms.

The word "science" has been overloaded; it means both a method for obtaining new knowledge, and a secular authoritarian religion with the trappings of science. Know the difference.

The scientific method demands that we constantly question existing knowledge. Religious tenets, in general, can't hold up to being questioned.

This makes for a useful litmus test: If you are allowed to question something, it's science. If you are not allowed to question, you are looking at a religious belief.

No rational person with anything remotely interesting to say should trust their content to the "cloud". Cloud-hosted accounts have an off-switch controlled by a faceless corporation, which has departments for "moderation" (political correctness) and "online safety" (censorship), but barely an email address for customer support (if any support at all).

The risk is too great that all you have in "the cloud" will vanish because of a decision made by a corporate drone whose name you'll never know.

Some of the most unfortunate victims of the trans activist religion are actual transgender people. Not the fake ones who self-mutilate because it's cool, but the ones who transitioned years ago, and quietly re-integrated into society.

Now, their very existence has been turned into a political slogan used to destroy our culture and divide our people. And the Marxists will throw them away just like gays and blacks, once the group reputation is too tarnished to garner the right emotonal reaction.

Climate change and racism are the same thing.

Minor problems that occur in small localized areas, but are globally insignificant and blown far out of proportion by people who want to outrage you for their own political gain.

Rule of thumb: A "news" story that attaches adjectives to every phrase is not just telling you information; it's telling you what to think about that information.

"unfounded", "baseless", "innocent", "disturbing", "major", "critical", "extreme", "breaking", "shocking", "right-wing", "left-wing". Also "black", "white", "trans", "gay", "cis" when it's immaterial to the story

It isn't news. It's propaganda.
