the remaining 200 requests that I suspect are bots are very low volume, though, so I'm mostly happy for now. also added a /robots.txt in case that helps any polite bots not send requests in the first place.
5. Empowering Mobilizon Creating a governance structure to hit Mobilizon's most important goals and priorities. We really need an open, privacy respecting way to get people offline and building community now more than ever. Governance may not be sexy, but this will make a huge difference! to funding, planning and increasing the features and reach of Mobilizon!
@danielittlewood they are *very* focused on seeds that perform well in the northern US but I can only imagine that there are European seed coops that are similar.
@Jetengineweasel I never ordered much from Johnny's, but my general impression is that Johnny's is focused on market gardeners/farmers and has a lot of hybrids/proprietary varieties whereas Fedco caters more to home gardeners and stocks more open-pollinated seeds from independent/small breeders. they have a bunch of hybrids, too, but not the vast selection that Johnny's has.
it's about time for me to order seeds. if you're in the northeast US there is no finer seed supplier than Fedco. they're a worker owned coop based in Maine with great ethics. great transparency as to where the seeds come from, lots of organic and open-pollinated seed, and a bunch of varieties from the open source seed initiative. I buy as much of my stuff from them as I possibly can. they have the best catalogs, too. full of amusing art, short essays, funny customer feedback, and touching tributes to people who have died. and unlike most seed companies they use newsprint for their catalogs so you can compost it or use it for fire starter later. I can't recommend them enough.
a blog post I wrote in 2022 mostly as a note to myself about problems I've had with Guile's OOP system has been sitting on the HN front page for several hours and I just don't really understand why. like there's not really any comments so it's not triggering a lisp flamewar or anything I just don't get it. https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=42529552
if you've got donations to get in before the year's end (I know I do!) consider donating to @spritely! we are building the next generation of decentralized social infrastructure and could really use your help to continue our work! donations directly fund software development and everything we do is free software, open source, and free culture.
@vv strange, I have the same interface and haven't had this problem. one time I had a similar issue with my tascam interface but otherwise has worked fine.
Massachusetts trash. I mostly post about gardening, permaculture, music, and free software development (not a techbro I swear please you gotta believe me)he/him
