@the_roamer @ArtBear @wild1145 @kainoa Here’s the other thing. Nobody could have predicted what happened with calckey.social. It went from being my side project to being a major concern very, very quickly. So no, there was no big conversations with other server admins because it wasn’t even a blip on the radar until recently.

Now that things are what they are, we adjust.

@the_roamer @ArtBear @wild1145 Let me give you context. For two weeks in March, I was on vacation. During that time @kainoa was the sole mod on calckey.social. The server only had 200 accounts and was not the flagship #Calckey instance. He received two reports, didn’t hear back, and made the best decision he could at the time—with the information he had. A month later, things change and we re-assess.

@ArtBear I spoke with @wild1145 yesterday. I also let him know @kainoa will be in touch.

I’m keen for a resolution, but it’s important they have a dialogue before a decision is made.

@big_diggity Yeah, I have checked it out. I talk to @mike regularly. Brilliant fellow.

@ArtBear It’s better to air on the side of caution. And we’re already having conversations with @wild1145 about re-federating.

Just realized that I'm working on a lot of Fediverse projects:

@ethanOS There's benefits and drawbacks to both platforms. For example, I like that Mastodon allows you to embed posts onto a website.

However, Calckey give you a drive, a gallery, and webpages.

Whatever happens, I still plan on running a Mastodon server that's open to the public.

That was always the plan anyway.

#Calckey is not "better", but it's very different.

@luckysitsinback You'll still see me on Mastodon. Because both Mastodon and Calckey use ActivityPub, the two software talk to each other. That means, you will receive all of my posts from Calckey should I migrate there.

@mastodonmigration I mean, I already use Calckey more often than Mastodon. I just don't post from there as often.
