Did you know that #FreeBSD can run a lot of #Linux software directly (without running Linux in a VM)? The Linuxulator is a compatibility layer that provides an implementation of many Linux interfaces available to userland programs.

So far everyone's responded with symlink, except for existing #FreeBSD installations. Haven't heard from my #OpenBSD or #NetBSD friends yet.

Lazyweb survey for users of UNIX-like systems (#Linux distros, #macOS, #BSD):

1. Is /etc/localtime a symlink to, or a copy of, the timezone file (in /usr/share/zoneinfo/)
2. On which distro or operating system

#Bell ran fibre down my street a month or two ago and I signed up for installation next week... but found out they don't offer #IPv6 and I had to cancel the planned install.

They tout their fibre service as "ready for the advancements of tomorrow" but offer only IPv4.

C'mon Bell, it's time to move out of the last millennium!

What's the largest number of NUMA domains you've encountered?

Anyone have a contact at imunify360.com? They claim "advanced procedures
to detect bots with bad or spoofed user agents" but one of those "advanced procedures" results in returning a 403 Forbidden when the user agent has "amd64" in it (as it does by default on FreeBSD).

@feld @mms @pitrh #FreeBSD startup scripts have parsed rc.conf.local since prior to 2000.

After the recent #FreeBSD security updates, I've heard the first report of successfully applying them in a pkgbase world.

Similar story here, I had a couple of Ubiquiti APs but went looking for something else. I've heard good things about tplink. Right now I have just one; a standalone controller and more APs still to come.
